Most of the young people may not have heard of the movie called Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. This movie was launched in 1977. This comedy horror movie was edited, scored, produced, directed and even co written by John Debello. This low budget movie was created with less than US $100,000. This spoof of B movies category was starred by David Miller. The success of the movie was the reason why there were three other sequels of this killer tomato produced.
The comedy movie started out with a scroll about Alfred Hitchcock who became a laughing stock when he released The Birds in 1963. The movie told about birds that hated humans and tortured any humans on their ways. However, this laughter died down in 1975 when there were attacks by birds. Then it was continued with a tomato which emerged from a garbage disposal unit and caused terror of the garbage’s owner who was soon attacked to death. The police was puzzled by the fact that they cannot find any blood on the woman’s body and that the red substance on her was in fact tomato juice.

That was not the only attack perpetrated by the killer tomatoes. Among the attacks is the attack to an innocent swimmer which was the parody of Jaws. It also showed that even the president felt threaten but tried to calm the public. He then put together a team consisting of specialist of different expertise but with one main goal, that is to stop the killer tomatoes. This was the time when the movie becomes more hilarious. One of the team members, who were a specialist in disguise, came to the tomato camp. His disguise was then blown because he said “pass the ketchup” when him and the killer tomatoes were eating hamburgers.
The end of the movie was also as hilarious because the tomatoes were on the losing side and they were cornered in a stadium. A song called the Puberty Lover was aired using the loudspeaker and they somehow shrink to a regular size tomato. By then, many people passed by them and squash the tomatoes. Only one survived the attack of the song as it was wearing earmuffs to cover its ears. But then one of the team members was able to shrink it when he showed the tomato the music sheet of “Puberty Love.” But that was not the closing of the movie as during the closing, a carrot rose from the ground and called its entire friend to fight.
