The Cactus Moon was known as one of the most iconic nightclub in Tucson. Many people love to spend some good time in the Cactus Moon. Then a rumor started out in the middle of July 2012 that the club was about to be closed down just like the other nightclubs in Tucson. Many people say that the Cactus Moon is like the Disneyland of nightlife entertainment in Tucson.
Young people are swarming to the club and having a great time night after night or maybe it was in the past. There were still some guests coming to the club before the closing, but it was not as many as it was in the years before.
Suddenly, without any prior notice at all to the guests attending and not even the staffs, the club served their last drink after 23 years of service. It was during one of those Saturday night party or Sunday very early in the morning to be exact. The staffs were quite surprised to know that they were all let go. The puzzled staffs saw that the club was undergoing troubles, but they never thought that it would go that far. The number of staffs that the night club has was quite a lot. There were a total of 40 people working for the club and they were suddenly jobless, thus trying to find jobs on the local restaurants as well as clubs.
When people dug deeper it turned out the old nightclub as well as the other nightclubs that were closing down at that time were hit by the rough economic situation. One of the manager’s in the Cactus Moon explained that even though the club still had its attraction all through the years, but lately they found it harder to make these guests keep coming through their door.
Not because they were no longer attracted, rather they simply did not have the money to be spent in a night club. Moreover, the cost of maintenance, operation as well as other factors was not going down. The club started to owe money to the banks as well as other fees such as the rental fee. The owner of the land told the media that the club was not even able to pay their rents for months. He had even went as far as sending them a notice of payment and to leave the building should there be no payments made.
