The disadvantages of freezing tomatoes:
1. The texture if the tomatoes are lost. The process of freezing has destroyed the pulp fibers because they contain water and will freeze as well as expand at the process. After the freezing, the tomatoes will be too soft and watery.
2. The flavor of the tomatoes is reduced greatly
3. After being frozen, the tomatoes will not be appealing and tasty to be eaten by themselves. The appeal lost is caused by the texture destruction, so cooking them would be the only option.
4. Freezing tomatoes will take up so much space in the freezer and that is why many people cannot afford to freeze tomatoes and have no space left in the freezer for other food.
