Tomatoes can be fried? Of course they can. Simply follow these instruction to prepare the family with this new twist of cooking your tomato, fried tomato.
Ingredients:
- 2 sausages
- 2 rashers of bacon (if you are a bacon lover, then you can feel free to add to 3 rashers)
- 2 flat mushrooms
- 2 plum tomatoes (choose the ripe ones)
- 1 large slice of black pudding
- 1 egg (choose the large one)
- 1 slice of bread
Cooking method:
1. Before starting with the other preparations, first heat a flat grill plate. Use low heat for the flat grill then brush it will olive oil lightly.
2. Put in the sausages. Choose the coolest part of the plate and leave them for about 15 to 20 minutes or until they turn golden. Turn them occasionally to avoid burning. After 10 minutes, add the heat to medium before starting with the other ingredients. However, if you do not have sufficient space on the plate, then cook the sausages first until they are properly cooked before starting with the others.
3. Cut the bacons and put them on the grill plate for only about 2 to 4 minutes per side or until you reach the level of crispiness that you like.
4. Trim the stalk of the mushrooms while cleaning them from any dirt. Use a pastry brush to shake off the dirt. Season the mushroom with salt and pepper to toast and then drizzle them with olive oil. Grill them for only a minute or two and then turn them to the other side and wait for another 3 to 4 minutes. Do not move the mushrooms more than necessary because every movement may release them from their juice and they will be soggy.
5. Cut the tomatoes half lengthwise. Season them like you season the mushrooms. Place them on the grill for about 2 minutes each side.
6. Remove the skin of the black pudding and cut them into 3 to 4 slices. Place them on the grill for about 2 minutes or less each side.
7. As for the bread, use a separate pan. It is better to use the bread that is a couple of days old, instead of the new ones. Cook them for 2 minute each side or until they are golden and crispy.
8. Break the eggs and put them for 30 seconds at the same pan as the fried bread.
