On the other hand, the tomato puree is made by cooking the tomatoes for a lot less time. That is why, the tomato puree is so much thinner compared to the paste. It does have some flavor in it but not as concentrated as the tomato paste. However, if you want to compare the tomato paste and tomato puree’s thickness, then both are still thicker than tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes.
