Ingredients:
3 tablespoons of best quality olive oil
0.25 balsamic vinegar, choose the one of the best quality
1 pint of grape tomatoes that have been rinsed and halved, but if you would like to avoid the cutting, then you can use cherry tomatoes instead
0.25 of slicely thin loosely packed basil that can be found in chiffonade
Coarse salt to taste
Freshly ground pepper

Preparation:
1. Take the olive oil and heat it with a little bit less than half of the vinegar. Use low heat for the process. Once it is bubbling and you see that the mixture is starting to reduce, you need to turn off the fire. This will take about 2 minutes or a little bit more.
2. Place the tomatoes in the hot liquid.
3. Add the sliced basil leaves, pepper and salt to taste. Do not add too much salt because this may ruin the whole dish. You can still add some salt if needed when you are about to serve the dish.
4. Take the pot and put its cover. Allow the dish to sit for a while before it will be served. You can leave it for about 4 hours so if you want to have dinner, then it should be prepared in the afternoon.
5. Before being served, you will need to reduce the vinegar by repeating the process of heating it over a low heat.
6. Afterwards, toss the tomatoes in the tomato juice.
