Non organic or organic seeds? The choices of seeds are seemingly endless. That is why the new gardeners are often too overwhelmed by the choices. Not only can the new ones, even those experienced gardeners also find these seed choices to be confusing. Therefore, it is essential to provide gardeners with tips and tricks in choosing the bet seed for them. The best seed for one gardener is not necessarily the best seed for others because they do not share the same soil, wheather, etc. Here are some of the tips:
1. Pick the seeds based on personal eating preferences
When you are looking at the seed rack, it would seem impossible to find the ones to choose. If you are having a hard time in choosing, then maybe it is best to choose the ones that you and your family likes. Being a gardener is not necessarily a profession, therefore you can simply pick the one that you like to eat and dine on your own harvest when the time comes. You should not choose very spicy chilly if no one in the family like to eat it. During harvest, you may need to find other who would love them, otherwise it would be such a waste.
2. Pick the seeds that are suitable for small space.
Seeds may seem so tiny before they grow, but remember that they will grow and when they do, they will need space. If you only have a small space, which is quite common nowadays as not everyone can afford big space, then you need to choose small garden crops. The seeds that are perfect for small spaces are the seeds that taste better when being enjoyed extremely fresh like tomatoes and peas, the ones that grow so much quicker and can be harvest at least a few times such as lettuce and salads, and tey will cost you more in the storage then when you grow them such as baby gourmet vegetables.
3. Do not choose, pick the organic and non organic seed and those that will survive in the warm and cold weather.
Many gardens will be divided into different seasons. The most common seasons are the warm and cool season, therefore you should get the seeds that will be suitable in those seasons. The seeds for cool seasons have different characteristics with the warm ones. Carrots, turnips, lettuce, salad mixes, peas, potatoes and broccoli are among the cool season crops while melon, cucumbers, zucchini and tomato are among the warm crops.
