To be able to grow the bamboo plants, you will have to understand the basic method. If taken care of correctly, these plans will grow healthily and optimally. If you want to grow bamboos, then you will have to be prepared to use garden manure or compost even before you plant the bamboo. So when you are ready to plant the bamboo, you need to make sure that the soil in the area is ready to help the plant to grow. Bamboo is simply beautiful for your gardens and can have become one of the best materials for furniture.
First, you need to dig a hole for the planting, but before you plant the bamboo, you need to work the compost to the bottom. This way, you will increase the function of the drainage. Then you can plant the bamboo in the hole and make sure that the top of the root would be level to the top of the soil. However, you need to keep some of the compost you prepared.
Ideally, the hole should about 1.5 to 2 times the width of the bamboo root mass, so be prepared to dig a big hole and work with quite a lot of compost. Once the bamboo plant is in the hole, mix some of the leftover compost and soil to cover the hole. The other part of the compost should be used over the top to create as high as 2 to 3 inch.
To choose the right compost, you will have to know your soil. You may also need to find the compost that are made for bamboos. Bamboos have specific needs that differ from the other plants and you need to provide those needs in order for them to thrive. Most bamboo loves the moderately acidic and loamy soil. When you find that you soil is too heavy, and then you can add the organic material to it. To add the material, you will need to dig the soil before you plant the bamboo.
Another solution would be to mulch it very heavily and then let nature does the rest. The earthworms will do everything else for you and they will build the nutritious soil. Add two or three inches of mulch on top and around the area so that you can be sure all the bamboo areas are already meeting the plants’ expectations. This means the soil is moist and soft.
