Have you ever since the succulent wreath? If you have, then you must be intrigued by them. Although they have been around for decades, at least they already existed in the 1950’s but they may not be so famous until recently. It is so unlike any other wreath that we use to know as the succulent wreath is a living wreath.
Before beginning with the succulent wreath creation, you need to know some basics to make a successful wreath. To create a nice wreath that is full, you will need to make a lot of cuttings. In fact, you may need to do about 100 cuttings out of the 12 inch frame. Therefore, even those people with vast experience in creating the succulent wreaths will at least need about one full hour to create the 12 inch wreath. And the full one hour does not count from the preparation itself.

There are two types of frames. The first one is the one that is used during the early years and the other one is the newer version. Some people may like the old one better but some other prefer the new ones. The older type has several disadvantages as it is bulky and very heavy. So no matter how great the sphagnum would be, these old frames would somehow sprang a leak and then the soil would spill that the wreath becomes messy.
The succulent wreath is known for its long age. In average, the wreath will last from 2 to 5 years. One year would be the least time of growth for the people who do not have the ability or knowledge on taking care of succulent wreath. Some people have reported that they have been able to take care of the living succulent wreath up to 10 years. Just like any other wrath, the succulent wrath can be used flat on its back or hang on the wall and doors.
In any case, you can use your creativity in how you would want to use them as decorations. But, put them not directly under the sun light. They do need fresh air however. If you place the wrath flat, then you may use other types of decorations with them such as candles. The wrath will become the outer ring of the candles. Some people may even use other types of lighting such as the hurricane lantern in the middle to create the rustic look.
