Wondering what would be a delightful dish that can be prepared with only a little time to spare? After all, once you go home from work, you would only have a few hours top before dinner must be served. Well, this recipe of pineapple pork chops would be one of those dishes that will be loved by the whole member of the family. The dish is nice when served with baked potato but is equally delicious when served with rice.
To prepare for 4 servings, you will need to prepare 8 ounce/a can of drained pineapple ring (the juice must be reserved for other purpose), a quarter cup of brown sugar, a quarter cup of soy sauce, a quarter teaspoon of garlic powder, 4 pork chops (one for each person), and a ping of ground black pepper.
The preparation is started with combining the reserved pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic powder. Use a large plastic bag with zipper on the top part of it to mix the ingredients. Once everything is inside the plastic bag, smush it for a few times using your hands. This action is to help you have an even combination of marinade and then dissolve the sugar. Once the combination is ready, put the pork chops inside the plastic and then seal it. Put the sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator for about 8 hours or overnight.
The next day, preheat the grill with medium fire. Oil the grill lightly to prepare it for the cooking. You need to note down that the oil should be enough but not too much. Too much oil will result on oily pork chops but not enough oil will make the pork chops stick to the grill. Afterwards, take the pork chops from the plastic bag. Shake off the excess marinade from the pork chops and then put them on the grill until you will see that the meats are turning brown. Do not remove the meat immediately because you will need the fire to also cook the inside part of the meat so you will no longer see pink meat.
The sign that the pork chops are done is the light grill mark on the surface. Flip the pork chops once in a while to have both surfaces cook at the same time. This process should take about 5 – 8 minutes depending for each side on the thickness of the pork chops. While it is grilling, brush it with the marinade from the plastic bag. This will enhance the taste and the marinade will not only be on the surface but also inside the pork chops. When you still have marinade leftover even after you finish the grilling, discard it. Once the meat is cooling, you will need to prepare four plates and put the pineapple rings on them before you put the pork chops on them.
