Generally, the strawberry plants can be divided into three types. The three types are the strawberry June bearing, the strawberry spring bearing, and the strawberry everbearing. The June bearing usually bears fruit in June, the spring bearing provides the fruits early in the spring season and the everbearing bears fruit all through summer. Even though the strawberry plants are not difficult to grow, but they still have their needs to be fulfilled otherwise your strawberry would not thrive.
The timing to plant strawberries should be exact so that you will get the fruits at the right time. The right time for strawberries would be spring and when spring comes, it is time that you start to work. It is better to start as early as possible. The recommended months would be March to April. This way, the ground and also the plant will have time to be established way before the warm weather of summer arrives. You can choose one of the three, but it is recommended to choose the everbearing one for the reason of abundant fruits. Moreover, this type of strawberries would not grow as big as the others so that you will be able to plant more.

Beside the timing, you also need to pay attention on how you can grow the strawberries. There are different ways that you can apply to plant it and you need to consider these ways so that you will be able to choose the most suitable ways for you. Moreover, the plants should be about 18 – 30 inches apart from each other in order to give the space needed between them. But if you choose to have 30 inches apart, then you would make it easier for people to pass between the trees in order to harvest the fruits and care for them.
When you are maintaining the strawberry plants, make sure that you remove all the blossoms that are bearing on the first year of your June bearing strawberries. This way, you will enable the plants to produce more daughters to form and grow. That way, you will get a larger and better crop the year after. Another thing to be paid attention to is that when your strawberry turned red, you will know that they are ripe and the need to be picked at that time because if you wait, then you will lose the strawberry harvest because the slugs will get them before you.
