By now most of us have had a sip of wine at least once in our lifetime. But all these years, for me, wine means made only from grape fruits. Don’t you? Well, of course it is not so easy to swallow when I heard about the pineapple wine. I thought at first, it is only one of those new brands of wine not actually wine that is made by pineapple fruits, but I was wrong. Out of curiosity, I tried the wine. The Pineapple wine has a distinct flavor of pineapple.
It also has a strong aroma of pineapples that will surely be appealing many of us. It also has a certain level of crispiness that is not easy to find in any other grape wines. The pineapple wine is like any other wines because it is a great companion for cheese, apples and crackers. It is also as good to keep your salad and light dinner a nice closure.
You can create your own pineapple wine if you want to. All you need is 3 pints of unsweetened pineapple juice, one pound of sugar, a tablespoon of acid blend, one package of wine yeast, 5 pints of water, a quarter tablespoon of tannin, and a crushed camped tablet. Can you really believe that all those ingredients will give you a gallon of results? Well, if you do it the right way, then you will get a nice gallon of pineapple juice. However, if it is your first few tries with no succes records beforehand, then you should try half of the recipe first.
The production will star with mixing the pineapple juice with the sugar water in the primary fermenter. Then you can add everything else, except of the yeast. Cover the primary fermenter and wait for one day before you add the yeast in it. After the yeast, you will need to cover the primary fermenter again. You will need to leave the mixture in the primary fermenter for about 3 – 5 days.
Every day, you will need to stir it and then press the pulp lightly just to aid the extraction process. After the 5 days, you can press the juice from bag and then siphon the juice in a glass container with airlock attached. This process will take another 3 weeks before the fermentation is complete. If you want to aid the clearing, you will need to siphon again for another 2 months before you bottle them.
