For many of us, baking our own pizza is simply out of the question. It takes too long and time is of the essence almost every day. However, this opinion may change when you try to order the pineapple pizza online on a shop and they you can follow the video about the preparation of your pizza, continued by the baking process and then the pizza delivery to your front step.
This pizza preparation process is so intriguingly interesting that many of my friends have been so inspired to create their own pineapple pizza. Well, the process looks like fun for the whole family to enjoy. This concept has brought about a new meaning of an open kitchen. Well, open kitchens are usually for those restaurants that we dine in not those online delivery services.
To create your own pineapple pizza, you need these ingredients:
1 thinly sliced medium red onion
1 to 8 ounce of pizza dough
1 to 4 ounce of fresh mozzarella
0.25 diced pineapple
1 – 6 slices of halved prosciutto
A handful of arugula
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of pepper or less
Once you gather all of the above ingredients, preheat the oven until the oven reaches 500 degree Fahrenheit and at the same time, heat up the stone for about 30 minutes. Use a medium pan to mix the olive oil and sliced onion over a medium heat. After five minutes, you need to add the salt until everything in the pan is completely caramelized. If the pan is getting too dried, then you need to add a little water. Do not pour the water but add a tablespoon at a time. The caramelization process should not take more than 30 minutes. Once it is done, put it aside because you will need to work with the pizza dough.
Take the pizza dough and gently pull it into a circle on a piece of parchment. It is perfectly okay if the pizza looks not perfectly round. It takes years of creation to make it perfect. Drizzle half a teaspoon of live oil and then add some more salt and pepper. Add the cheese and pineapple on the stone and then in the oven. Bake the dough for about 15 minutes or less or until you see that all the mozzarella on it has melted and the crust has turned golden brown. Remove it from the oven and then sprinkle the prosciutto, onions and arugula.
