A yummy pineapple teriyaki chicken is the favorite of my family. We never seem to feel bored of the pineapple teriyaki chicken. Sometimes, we even have it for special occasions such as my husband’s birthday party. The dish is so special that it is something that I would think of when I have to host and prepare the food for my guests.
Why should not it? It has the savory flavor of the chicken and its spices but it also has the refreshing sweet and sour taste from the pineapple. If you have not tried it, you should. Not only that this dish taste great and will increase your family members’ appetites, but it is also very healthy. It has so many vitamins and proteins that you body needs.
When you are ready to prepare the dish, you must first prepare these ingredients:
1 can of crushed pineapple
3 tablespoons of soy sauce (low sodium soy sauce is recommended)
2 tablespoons of agave nectar or honey
1 minced garlic clove (small garlic clove would be sufficient)
4 boneless chicken breasts making about 2 pounds of meat.
To make the sauce, you will need to mix the soy sauce, pineapple, ginger, honey and garlic on a medium size bowl. Whisk them all until everything is well combined. Take half of the teriyaki sauce and pour inside a resalable plastic bag. Take the chicken and put inside the bag. Close the bag and try to coat all the chicken surfaces with the marinade. Put the plastic bag in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, but it is better to put it for one night.
Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken
The next day, take the chicken breast and clean the chunky with your spoon so that you will not have excess marinade or even worse, the chunky pineapple from the marinade. Put the chicken in the oven for about 10 minutes per side. While the chicken is cooking, you can take the other half of the teriyaki sauce that you created the day before. Heat the sauce on a small heat for about three minutes. After 3 minutes, you would see that the sauce turns slightly thickened.
When the chicken is done, take it out and place it on a serving dish. Slice the chicken so that it would be easier to be consumed. Then pour the teriyaki sauce on the top of the chicken. Serve the dish immediately afterwards because it is best served hot.
