The nursery is where the plants are planted and where they are propagated so that they reach the size that is usable. The plants living in these nurseries would be the nursery plants. The nursery is where we go for the plant shopping as well as other gardening accesory needs. Or at least that is what most of us is familiar with. There are actually different types of nurseries. Some of us may not know the other types because they do not really serve the public directly. Depending on their purposes, there are three types of nurseries:
1. The public nursery

3. The private nursery
This type of nursery only provides their services for one institution or private estate only. The nursery is under the agreement to provide for the needs of the institution and therefore it does not provide for any other institution for the period of contract.
Although many people think of nursery as the supplier of plants and other gardening needs, in fact the nurseries serve wider functions. They are very important for many branches of conservation biology, agriculture as well as forestry. This is because some of the nurseries are actually specializing in only one of the available process phase. The example of the phases would be the growing out, propagation or retail sale. Other nurseries may specialize in one type of plant such as the tomato plants or rock garden plants. When they specialize in one species, they will grow its verities and also quality. Other nursery type can concentrate of the production of bulk stock, etc.
Nurseries can grow their plats in the container fields, greenhouses, tunnels and also in the open field. It actually depends on the weather where the nursery is located and also on the types of plants being grown. Although the nurseries are highly different in the operations as well as in their functions for the society, one thing for sure, all nurseries are requiring intensive and high labor. Therefore, operating a big nursery would not only cost a lot, but would certainly need a lot of work.
